Snohomish County, which includes Everett, is running out of needle cleanup kits, a sign of a heroin epidemic, officials say.

As KOMO News reports, the Snohomish County Health District started giving out the kits โ€” which consist of sharps containers, protective eye gear and gloves โ€” but ran out of 50 kits within two days. Theyโ€™re working on putting together 1,000 more.

In related and better news, Snohomish County officials say theyโ€™ve saved over 100 people from overdoses using the overdose antidote Nalaxone. (Hundreds of pharmacies in Washington carry overdose kits; you can fine them here).
