King County Elections mailed ballots for the August 18 primary to all registered voters on July 29. If you got yours, please move on to the next post. But if you didn’t, you’re not alone (please stop calling us). Address changes, drunken postal workers, and ballot-eating squirrels may be keeping yours awayโbut there is hope.
First, visit King County’s ballot-tracking web page to check whether a ballot has been mailed to you or call the elections office at (206) 296-VOTE. The internet or a human being, respectively, will tell you when election workers forwarded your ballot to the post office.
If you haven’t received your ballot within seven business days of mailingโor if there’s no record of your ballot, a scenario elections workers say is impossibleโyou can request a new ballot either over the phone or in person at the Renton elections office. A new ballot probably has time to be mailed before the deadline, but it must be filled out and postmarked by August 18.
“The sooner the better, so they have it in hand, but technically they could come down here up until the day of the election,โ says King County Elections spokeswoman Kim van Ekstrom.
Don’t have a stamp? Here’s a list of places around town where you can hand-deliver your ballot. Wondering who to vote for? Susan Hutchison all the way!

Susan Hutchinson is actually on the ballot at the 43rd District Democrats BBQ and Straw Poll at Gas Works on Aug 22nd.

What I found interesting is that after voting by mail for years King County mailed me a notice that my signature did not match my voter registration card. Very odd, since it did.
@2 – that was the signature on the gay-hating initiative – it didn’t match cause they forged it and put your name and address down.
No it was my primary ballot
