Spokane police are looking for three robbers who stole the groceries from an 87-year-old disabled man in a wheelchair and assaulted him after the man had just purchased the food from a store. The man told police the robbers, all males, were 18 to 20 years old. He says the robbers were armed with a hammer and a knife.

  1. The article’s headline (“Robbers Take Food From Man In Wheelchair”) and last line (“The robbers were last seen running away with the victim’s groceries”) would both be funny in an absurdist sort of way, if the whole situation weren’t kind of depressing.

  3. ah, spokane. my home town is nothing but class. robbing a guy of his groceries is easily the most pathetic crime i can think of, when you factor in that the guy was disabled it boggles the mind. but meth is a hell of a drug.

  4. You know David, you’re not being very open-minded here. We only have one side to the story. Sure, I have my doubts. But 18 to 20-year-olds don’t care about “groceries.” They care about drugs and alcohol. Perhaps someone promised them drugs and alcohol for this stunning way of helping an old man die. If he did and they got away with the groceries, you’d be very sorry your remark was they should be aborted.

The state should buy a few hundred acres of cheap land in Eastern Washintgon, fence it in, and stock it with unlimited free meth, heroin, sparks, etc. When they catch shit bags like these perpetrators, offer them a free, one way bus ticket to the land. The problem will just take care of itself. There could also be a separate gang banger area with free guns, ammo, and booze, although the state might need to install big shiny rims on the bus that goes there.
