1. Kirsten Gillibrand (New York).
2. Tom Udall (New Mexico)
3. Martin Heinrich (New Mexico)
4. Elizabeth Warren (Massachusetts)
5. Cory Booker (New Jersey)
6. Bernie Sanders (Vermont)
It is very short.
This handy list by the Washington Post shows how Democrats have voted on Trumpโs cabinet positions. Only one of them has voted no on five out of six of these appointments, Gillibrand.
Go give her money.
Saint Elizabeth Warren, though she said no to four out of six appointments, voted for a totally unqualified fool, Ben Carson, for HUD Secretary.
I am as qualified as Ben Carson to be HUD Secretary. Housing is a thing and I live in housing. I can be in charge of the nationโs housing and urban development, totally.
Warren wrote a <a href=”https://www.facebook.com/senatorelizabethwarren/posts/716640075165155
“>long explanation on Facebook:
Yes, I have serious, deep, profound concerns about Dr. Carsonโs inexperience to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Yes, I adamantly disagree with many of the outrageous things that Dr. Carson said during his presidential campaign. Yes, he is not the nominee I wanted.
But โthe nominee I wantedโ is not the testโฆ..โฆ.Dr. Carsonโs answers werenโt perfect. But at his hearing, he committed to track and report on conflicts of interest at the agency. In his written responses to me, he made good, detailed promises, on everything from protecting anti-homelessness programs to enforcing fair housing laws. Promises that โ if theyโre honored โ would help a lot of working families. Can we count on Dr. Carson to keep those promises? I donโt know.
Blah, blah, blah.
Hey, Senator Warren, Republicans just spent eight years making life hell for a moderate Democratic President, refusing to even give a hearing to his last Supreme Court pick, and youโre giving Ben Carson the benefit of the fucking doubt?
To all Democrats: Stop giving Republicans the benefit of the doubt. Give no quarter. Grow a spine.
