it’s nowhere near Yellowstone NP. there are no buried pipelines through the NP.

@ 5280, did he change the wording? I see the spill going “into the central river of America’s flagship national park.” Which is not to say that the spill happened at that park.

So… We should have a Slog Poll, about how many gallons of oil did Exxon really spill. I’d be seriously surprised if they weren’t lowballing the number, as is usual in that industry.
Whatever the wording, this post still strongly implies that the Nat’l Park was somehow imperiled by the spill.
But not to minimize the fact that the entire Yellowstone River is a treasure that Exxon/Mobil managed to fuck up.
Have you ever seen that particular stretch of river? Obviously not. A “national treasure” it isn’t.
The next time a ‘rogue’ grizzly is caught, they should relocate it to an Exxon board meeting.
I can’t let this go anymore. I abhor the spill but you need to get the location correct.
The spill did not happen in the park, it happened over a hundred miles DOWNSTREAM.
I’m from Montana and there are some amazingly beautiful sections of the river fouled by this spill. There will be considerable impacts to fish and birds, but please stop misleading people about Yellowstone National Parking being involved.
Good thing I don’t do the Morning News posts. From now on, I’ll steer clear of news and stick to my fever-dreams.
