Arming teachers: With Narcan. A bill that would allow public schools to stock and administer the anti-overdose drug has passed the Washington House. The teacher’s union is skeptical and urging restraint. The vote passed 79-19 with Senate deliberations expected to start this week.

Ineffective cease-fire in Syria: The U.N. demanded a cease-fire in Syria. Over 500 people have been killed in the past week from aerial bombings. The Syrian government is trying to stamp out a rebel-held enclave east of Damascus. Still, the bombings continue.

King County Democrats Chair Accused by Staffer of Abuse: More than 30 people have signed a letter asking Bailey Stober to step down. According to Natalia Koss Vallejo, Stober consistently called her names like, for instance, “a stupid bitch” or “a stupid cunt.” He also pressured her to drink alcohol, made regular demeaning comments about women — especially women he perceived as overweight — and pulled malicious pranks on Koss Vallejo. The King County Democrats will meet Tuesday and “if Stober doesn’t resign those who signed the letter will be seeking an executive board vote to remove him.”

BREAKING: There will be no speeding up the Trump administration’s legal fight against DACA. The war to end protections for undocumented immigrants brought to the country as children has stalled momentarily as the Supreme Court denied an expedited review of a U.S. District Court ruling.

Monday morning traffic expected to be a real slog: The slush from yesterday’s weird weather — did you see the size of that hail? — is a real pain for anyone trying to get through the passes this morning. Icy roads have made the commute treacherous and there’s an avalanche blocking the North Cascade Highway. Just your typical Monday.

A different avalanche left one person dead: A group of snowmobilers was buried by an avalanche in Stampede Pass on Sunday. Three were completely buried and two partially buried when the slope above them broke away. One did not survive.

“Friends of the NRA” fundraiser protested in Yakima: Apparently, the group has no real ties to the National Rifle Association. But, that didn’t stop 30 Yakimans (is that the correct nomenclature?) from showing up to publicly shame anyone who attended. They had signs with names of children killed by gun violence. Apparently, the protesters were asked by local students to organize the protest.

Hitler’s car in Medina: One of the Mercedes Hitler used was seen in Medina. It was being unloaded from a truck by a couple of guys, an onlooker reported to The Seattle Times. Photographic evidence places the Fuhrer’s ass cheeks in that exact car, touching those exact leather seats. Mussolini sat in it, too! Somehow, the Mein Kampf mobile made it to Washington. It disappeared soon after. But, it reared its head again in the most obvious place. The hub for Hitler’s hub caps, the HQ2 of Hitler’s heart, the hotbed for his hotrod. Scottsdale, Arizona. It was being sold at a car auction there. No one knows where it will end up. Apparently far away from here. But, why make a stop in Medina of all places?

Washington state’s fish farms sing their swan song: The practice was pioneered in Washington in the 1970s. Now, lawmakers are trying to phase out farms by 2025. This comes on the heels of Cooke Aquacultures recent (read: massive) fuck up last summer where 260,000 Atlantic salmon escaped into the Puget Sound. Fish farming impacts native salmon populations negatively. The Cooke debacle emphasized this and showed the state’s lackluster and meager regulatory response to a spill of such proportion.

Weinstein Company files for bankruptcy: Harvey Weinstein’s film studio behemoth is following in his wake and taking a similar tumble from grace. The studio has been a powerhouse in Hollywood since its founding in 2005. After allegations swirled around Weinstein in October and accusers finally found a voice through reporting by The New York Times and The New Yorker, Weinstein Co. began to suffer. There were talks of selling the company to an investor, but that fell apart too after a lawsuit was filed against Weinstein and co-founder and brother Bob. The lawsuit accused the studio of “vicious and exploitative treatment of employees,” according to The Washington Post.

PyeongChang goes out with a bang: The Winter Olympics are officially over. It was fun while it lasted. Now, we can all forget 90 percent of those sports exist and feel pleasantly surprised when we rediscover them in four years. Ah, the circle of life.

Ivanka Trump, senior adviser or daughter? Ivanka is treated like a senior adviser unless it’s inconvenient. Apparently, it’s unfair for her, as a daughter, to be asked about sexual misconduct allegations surrounding her father. This tweet about sums it up.

Age of the emperor: President Xi Jinping could lead China indefinitely as China’s Communist Party announced it was abolishing term limits. This is the nation’s most decisive tilt toward authoritarian governance. Other rulers in that elite country club include our good pal Vladimir Putin of Russia, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi of Egypt and Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey.
