No central authority for homelessness crisis: All Home is the organization that is supposed to handle King County homelessness services. The total operational budget for homelessness in the county is about $195 million annually. But, All Home can only make policy recommendations and outline strategies. It is largely powerless to effect actual change on its own. The authority to spend public dollars resides with King County and Seattle, the funders. Today, All Home is hosting a two-day discussion about remedying the gaps in implementation and streamlining the authority for homelessness services.
Break out the sunscreen: Today kicks off our week of nice weather. And tomorrow? Well, that’s a beach day if I’ve ever seen one. There’s a stretch of days in the 70s that defy Seattle’s typical April trends.
Seattle is forecast to reach 75 degrees tomorrow. The average first date for 75 is May 5th. If we reach 75 tomorrow, it would be 6 consecutive years that we’ve reached 75 degrees earlier than normal. That’s never happened before. #wawx

That’s no good: It also could be a metaphor for what Seattleites think 70-plus degrees feels like.

Early Sunday morning, police were called to Ballard. They found Baker in the street with a gunshot wound to the chest. He died en route to the hospital.
Seattle rugby team dominates in franchise debut: The Seattle Seawolves crushed the San Diego Legion 39-23 in their first game of the season yesterday. They play in Tukwila at Starfire Stadium. On Saturday, they play the Glendale Colorado Raptors. I have to admit, I did not know there was professional rugby in the U.S. I also do not know what a seawolf is but I’m happy to learn.
According to Wikipedia: Seawolf could refer to a 1904 Jack London novel. Or a British naval missile system. Alternatively, it could be a misunderstood lyric from Shakira’s hit “She Wolf.”
46-year-old lost wallet found in Wenatchee: During an update of the public pool, a work crew stumbled across a wallet lost in 1972. Reporters are looking for Henry LaRue, the man whose wallet was left behind the boy’s lockers all those years ago. The news cycle is slow in Wenatchee.

Happy belated Earth Day. Apparently our air quality sucks: The American Lung Association ranked Washington among the good and the bad. Bellingham is the bees knees when it comes to cleanest air for short-term pollution. Seattle struggled. Apparently, Seattle is ranked 15th for short-term particle pollution.
Don’t worry, our economy is good: Washington’s state economy was ranked number one in a new WalletHub poll. This is because, as GeekWire reports, our state economy is “driven by factors like strong gross domestic product growth, exports per capita, and percentage of high-tech jobs.”
Snoop’s brush with the law: Snoop Dogg spent part of his favorite weekend with the Kent Police Department. They’re big fans, apparently. He posed for a picture with them at his performance at the ShoWare Center. Look at Snoop and all these narcs.
12-year-old Australian boy fights with mom, flies to Bali: The kid wanted to go to Bali. His mom said no. He stole her credit card and researched what airline would let a 12-year-old fly — no questions asked. The next day, he scootered to his local train station instead of going to school like his family thought. He boarded a plane to Perth, and then one to Indonesia. His mom was very angry when she found out.
Man! I feel like a woman Trump supporter: The Canadian singer responsible for a feminist anthem said in an interview that she would have cast a vote for Trump if she were eligible. She said she admired his transparency. “I would have voted for him because, even though he was offensive, he seemed honest,” Twain said. Now, she’s apologizing on Twitter. I mean, she told us in that song she wasn’t going to act politically correct. What did we expect?
Tennessee Waffle House shooting suspect had ‘history of delusion’: Travis Reinking, 29, was wearing just a green jacket when he opened fire at a Waffle House in the early hours of Sunday morning. He killed four people. Reinking was previously detained last July for entering a restricted area of the White House to set up a meeting with Donald Trump. Reinking’s parents say he believed that Taylor Swift was stalking him. A customer at Waffle House, James Shaw Jr., tackled Reinking to the ground and stopped the shooting.
South Korea turns off the K-Pop: And other propaganda it’s been blasting over the Demilitarized Zone to North Korea. The decision was made days before South Korea’s president’s scheduled meeting with Kim Jong-un. Turning off the propaganda is meant to ease tensions and create a more peaceful environment for the summit. This is another step toward peace between North and South Korea.
Best headline of the morning: James Cameron Hopes ‘Avengers Fatigue’ Will Set In Soon, Compares His Avatar Sequels To The Godfather Films. Fuck you, James Cameron and all the years of 3-D films we had to endure because of your stupid movie.
Tonight’s best Seattle entertainment options include Alexander Chee’s reading of his first book on nonfiction, How to Write an Autobiographical Novel, an evening with Cigarettes After Sex at the Neptune, and a dinner with L’Oursin + Holy Mountain + KEXP DJ Tim Betterley.
