A Seattle police officer has filed a $10 million claim against the city: He was assigned to clean up a homeless encampment near the West Seattle bridge earlier this year where he claims he was exposed to “an extremely dangerous man-made toxin.” He says the exposure has caused him to contract early onset Type 2 diabetes. His attorney: “The exposure to these toxins damaged his already susceptible liver even further. Now, he faces ongoing medical care.”
