Slog PM today is brought to you by our shame: We all have our vices. Ours, this week, were Halloween candy. Whoever brought this bag of candy in is to blame. Also, that person brought it in on Thursday. It’s Friday now and it’s all gone. This isn’t even the half of it.

I don’t want to point any fingers but most of this pile was created by Christopher Frizzelle and scavenged from his office trashcan. You know, for effect.
Did you like that storm last night? Of course you did. If you didn’t wake up from the wind howling and the rain spritzing you through your open window then you aren’t living. The skies were angry about something last night and I was happy to lend a listening ear. It rained a shit ton (technical term) and now our rivers are surging.

Speaking of that storm: We’re on flood watch until Friday at 8 p.m. Well, Northwest Washington is. If you’re near any of these rivers watch your fucking back Tolt River, Skokomish, Stillaguamish, Skykomish, and Nooksack.
Seattle gets lit for Paul Allen: The skyline this weekend will go blue to celebrate Allen’s life. It’s a nice reminder of Allen’s legacy and just who owns this city so toe the fucking line, you plebeian.
Suspicious package delivered to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers: The headquarters in South Seattle were evacuated when a suspicious package was delivered to the mailroom. Turns out it was just a package of brochures.
Halloween candy from Hell: My parents always told me not to eat Halloween candy I got that looked like it had been open. I didn’t listen to them. I’m still alive. But, some people in Omak encountered some Halloween candy that had sharp pins in it. Two pieces in particular, a box of Nerds and a mini-Snickers, had tiny sharp pins inside. Police are investigating.
Okay, Florida beats us for extreme weather: For now. Well, probably for always.
That person just drove through a #tornado! Wild weather day as strong squall line brought widespread severe weather to the #Tampa Bay Area. #SpringHill #Skytower. pic.twitter.com/f5Izb9QCt9

Jamal Khashoggi’s body was dissolved in acid: Ah, another update to the horrifying story of journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s murder in Saudi Arabia. Not only was Khashoggi cut up and decapitated but his body was disposed of in acid. Well, there’s no forensic evidence of that but a Turkish official said that’s what he believes and that it’s the only logical conclusion. I guess that’s news!
Simone Biles won her 13th world title: That’s a record. Biles is now the most decorated gymnast in gymnastics history. She’s also the only American to medal in every event.
Welcome to the Dystopia:
I am extremely hungover but had to report on *deep sigh* why Twitter was listing “Kill All Jews” as a trending topic this morning.https://t.co/GkeT46SXTN

Are you voting this weekend? You better be. Or you better have already voted. Or you better be really thinking hard and getting ready to vote Monday and, worst case, Tuesday. We have this handy dandy endorsement guide for you.
The Patriot Prayer is at UW again: They’re supposedly there to protest I-1639, the gun safety initiative. But, according to KUOW reporters, it’s turned into more of a discussion about Nazism. It always does.
Patriot Prayer event supporting I-1639 starts now on @UW‘s Red Square.

My friend Tonio goes to UW (it’s a five year program okay??) and was on the scene:

Trump is a liar sometimes: Or, uh, most times. According to this report by the Washington Post, Trump has made 6,420 misleading statements over 649 days. In the seven weeks leading up to the midterm elections, Trump has made an average of 30 misleading comments a day.
