He’ll be speaking at the Moore Theater at 7:30 p.m. There’s a protest organized across the street from the event. Should be interesting! Seattle doesn’t want you to run, Howard.
A different Seattle coffee billionaire wants to live to 180-years-old: It’s nice to have dreams. Maybe Bulletproof Coffee’s Dave Asprey can do it by rubbing his money on his skin. He calls himself a biohacker. I wonder if he injects young blood into his veins. Maybe he injects Bulletproof Coffee?
Durkan poses pay raise to attract more police officers: The Seattle Police Department has been struggling to maintain its staff and failing to attract new hires. Mayor Jenny Durkan submitted a proposal to the City Council today that would add a $15,000 signing bonus for veteran police officers joining the squad. It still needs council approval. Those boys in blue need some green. Don’t we all?
It’s going to get cold! Or, at least colder than it’s been. Get ready for some weather whiplash, Seattle.

A new documentary about Lorena Bobbitt: In the ’90s, Bobbitt became infamous for cutting off her husband’s penis. The narrative around the event surrounded her husband and his uh, missing member (it was reattached and everything is fine). But, what the media and society didn’t focus on was how her husband regularly domestically abused Lorena and raped her. The docuseries, set to release on Amazon Prime on Feb. 15 and produced by Get Out’s Jordan Peele, centers the story in the context of hindsight and the lens of the #MeToo movement.
21 people dead in Midwest: Authorities believe the 20 deaths in the region since Sunday are due to the freezing temperatures. A pre-med student at the University of Iowa died outside of a campus building due to the weather.

Please don’t give Herman Caine a position of power: Herman Cain, the former pizza CEO and failed 2012 presidential candidate (you may remember his 9-9-9 tax plan which called for a 9 percent business tax, 9 percent income tax, and 9 percent sales tax.), is reportedly being considered by Trump for a position on the Federal Reserve Board.
