Remember the teenager who escaped from a group home in Renton and went on a luxe burglary and identity theft crime spree for nearly two years until he eventually nabbed a plane in Indiana and flew it to the Bahamas? In 2012, then-U.S. attorney and current mayoral candidate Jenny Durkan prosecuted 20-year-old Colton Harris-Moore, a.k.a. the “Barefoot Bandit.” He was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in prison and forbidden from making money off the movie rights to his story.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Harris-Moore, who is now out of prison and occupied as a self-described “aspiring entrepreneur,” does not want his old prosecutor to become mayor of Seattle. Seattlepi.com’s Joel Connelly reported today that Harris-Moore has taken to attacking Durkan on Twitter, calling her “#ClintonClone” and “#StaleJennyDurkan.”

Harris-Moore wants Mike McGinn for mayor instead.

In an interview with Seattlepi.com, Durkan called Harris-Moore “highly intelligent” but said she would “hate to give him any press.”

Earlier this year, Harris-Moore went on the record with mynorthwest.com to discuss his life and opinions on the presidential election, during which he supported Donald Trump.
