From People to Pigs, and Back to People?: Course of swine flu remains uncertain.
241: Confirmed US swine flu tally climbs.
898: The latest worldwide total.
Their Problem Now?: US asks Germany to accept some Guantanamo prisoners.
Closure?: Boston Globe shutdown could be imminent.
No Closure: District won’t close schools because of suspected swine flu cases.
Disloyal: Specter says, “I did not say I would be a loyal Democrat.”
Always a Commercial Real-Estate Investment Scout, Never a Governor: Rossi lands a new gig.
Sad All Around: John Edwards faces federal inquiry over use of campaign funds to pay woman with whom he had affair.
Hugh! Hugh! Hugh!: Despite awful reviews, Wolverine movie yields $87 million.
Should’ve Taken Those Economics Classes: Art students find limited opportunities in the new economy.
Hannah Banana: Disney expands branding to fruits and vegetables.

Wasn’t this yesterday’s morning news?
Mickey and Donald brand bananas? Minny and Daisy brand coconuts? I’m not sure how I feel about that.
Why isn’t everything made out of Wolverine’s pants?
Does breading Mickey Mouse-shaped chicken nuggets with whole wheat make them nutritious? Unlikely.
And who the hell buys pre-sliced apples – how hard is it to cut up an apple?
Am I a total fucking crank?
The Boston Globe? Sad.
The paper, I mean. What a sad sad paper.
Well now I’ve got a big hankering for clams.
“Art students find limited opportunities in the new economy.”
i hate to be so juvenile, but..DUH!
and come on, nothing on the M’s incredible 15th inning win? Erica youre killing me here!
That doesn’t make him disloyal, but okay.
@ 7, see @ 1… They just reposted this from yesterday.
I refuse to acknowledge the swine flu until it takes someone on my block.
Hello, registered Slog.
So long as they’re proven to have committed crimes against us then it’s the right move. We must follow through and make sure that those imprisoned in Guantanamo are treated humanely and in countries that
do not torture in accordance with US laws. Some of them have had irreparable psychological damage done to them and sadly we will still need to take care of them

Specter is an opportunistic weasel. He dumped the Democrats when it helped him in the 1980s. He freely admits this change is because polls show him in trouble in the GOP Primary.
Specter just jumped parties to try to save his reelection. Remarks about his poll numbers as a Republican against another Republican made this quite evident. He’s a reverse Joe Lieberman.
Yeah for increased branding/marketing of fruits and vegetables. I’ve long wondered why the fruit industry hadn’t done more/better with this.
I have kids, and though I hate the idea that there are marketing managers whose whole lives revolve around figuring out how to hook my kids, that is the reality of the world that my kids live in.
So, given that, I want the healthy food industry to compete toe-to-toe in that same environment. Bring on the flashy, catchy ads that will make my kids ask for good food and feel like they are still being cool.
I agree about Specter, Penn needs to find a real Democrat to run against him. We have enough blue-dogs in the party and we don’t need any more.
GIVE ME LIBERALS OR GIVE ME DEATH!!!!!
@7
So will the new slog let you call ECB an ignorant cunt?
Hooray!
@17 kill yourself.
I’m still troubled by the Disney Old Yeller brand dog food that I saw at the grocery store.
I know Old Yeller is a beloved Disney movie but I don’t know that naming a dog food after a dog that is famously and traumatically killed at the end of the movie after catching rabies.
@20,
I think I’ll market Where the Red Fern Grows cougar repellent. I’m sure it’ll be a big hit.
19 Call me ‘gay’ before I do it and Dan can chalk it up as another gay bashing
@ 20, I’ve thought the same for years, but I trust that they ran it through all the focus groups and got their passing grade.
@ 21, that’s a great idea, along with The Yearling deer repellent.
It’s so nice to be able to skip over the unregistered comments and know I’m not missing anything.
