  1. Question about people that would threaten a work crew with a gun because they didn’t like the way the crew was spraying: how do they make it to their *40s* without being shot?

  2. The ad stated: “May Obama follow in the footsteps of Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley & Kennedy!” All four of those presidents, of course, were assassinated in office. Elchert said when the ad was taken, the staffer who took it “did not make the connection of what tied those presidents together.”

I think this makes a pretty strong case for why we need to have historically literate citizens.

The staffer didn’t make the connection, but a number of well-versed readers did.

  3. Speaking of Cuba, did you guys see the move “When Night Falls (2000)”?

While just a random choice on my Netflix queue, seems like something SLOG readers would appreciate.

  4. Also news: Obama admin issues warning to NK equivalent to the warning issued to Iraq prior to our invasion of Iraq.

    this is serious.

And no one had a good idea what to do the other day . . . .

  5. @5: Bullshit the staffer didn’t know. Most people, the ONLY thing they know about Garfield & McKinley is that both were assassinated in office.
