  1. Israelis have renewed their marches against the high cost of living. But they see no connection between their government’s bad relations with so many of their neighbors as an expensive way to live. Now, the only real ally in the region, Turkey, has had their ships shot at by the Israeli government. The Iraelis deserve the mess they’re in. Until they make peace and start making business partners instead of enemies, they’ll pay through the nose.

  2. Israel needs to just suck it up and say “I’m sorry” and Turkey needs to GOI as well after Israel finally apologizes. Who gives a shit who’s absolutely right or wrong. Just do it. Erdogan’s being an asshole, but so are the Israelis. Erdogan’s doing this to get points with the Arab world. Nothing more.

  3. A bunch of activists try to run a blockade set up to prevent weapons from getting into Israel and when the Israelis legally board, they were assaulted and retaliated. I don’t know how else Israel could have handled it. Those activists knew exactly what would happen, and cheerfully put lives on the line to poison diplomatic relations. Fuck them for being incapable of working together for peace.

  4. @4, it was a tricky situation, to be sure. But I think one way Israel could have have handled it was to be more open to investigations after the fact. Another would have been not to summarily execute people during the raid. Just a thought.

This, however, requires one to be open to the idea that the Israeli government has handled the the conflicts with Palestine in a less than constructive manner.

  5. Yes, and the American government has always been so open to the idea that we’ve handled conflicts less than constructively. And if Mexico were lobbing rockets into Southern California, I’m sure America wouldn’t retaliate.
