Brave out gay people are to thank for this turnaround in public opinion; notice that those who know they know a gay person are in favor of gays serving openly in the military by twenty percent more than those who think they don’t know any gay people. Celebrate those who made that first step towards openness, they lead the way.

  6. Re guns in parks: Gee, I wonder how many of your tax dollars got pissed away on something that even a first-year law student could have predicted wouldn’t survive a challenge. That must make you guys feel real good.

  10. @7, yeah, it would probably have to be a statewide initiative to have even a ghost of a chance. However, given the way Second Amendment law is evolving, there’s a better-than-average chance that even that would be held unconstitutional.

    Remember when me & Fifty-two-eighty told ya that the gun ban was illegal? Just makin’ sure.

    Also, attention Unpaid Intern: calling it a gun-rights case misses the point. The real story here was about reminding certain mayors that they don’t have the power to unilaterally place limits on constitutional rights. If they did, then for example, the mayor of Mount Vernon could make it illegal or gay people to assemble in parks.

  17. I hope they fix the BG! I’ve never wiped on it specifically, but I have on other, similar rail crossings. In fact, that incident resulted in my extremely slow, conservative treatment of any rail crossings. Sometimes I foot down over them.

    Imagine the invisible hand of god slapping you to the pavement: cruising on second, sliding on the ground the next. It really hurt, I was sore at work all day (smacked right onto a recently healed buster clavicle), and it ruined my literally brand new handlebar wrap job! Both sides! What a drag.

    Anyways. Those crossings are truly a serious hazard, especially for the clueless who like to pedal on the trails on nice, sunny days.
