  1. Obama now worst President in history!

    ” Least popular since Truman

In the meantime, Obama’s approval rating — put at 50% in the GWU poll — slumped to 47% in a recent Gallup poll, lower than any other president at this point in his tenure, going back to Harry Truman. “

  2. @6: We haven’t even finished a fiscal year under Obama and are basically following through on a tax structure generally unchanged from the year prior with lots of breaks given to businesses.

But okay, yes, businesspeople are being crushed by the President himself. He’s going around torching businesses and sexing up the husbands and wives of business owners.

  3. Right. Like Bush knew what the fuck he was doing. Huge deficits, financial collapse and two badly run wars. Right wingers are fucked in the head.

  4. @9 – HAHA empathy – empathy only for business owners; no empathy whatsoever for people crushed under the weight of unfettered free market capitalism for years (peaking in last year’s collapse and skyrocketing unemployment), driven to bankruptcy by unafforable health bills, or people whose entire country and livelihood is about to be submerged due to our country’s persistent denial about climate change (http://www.independent.co.uk/environment…).

obama has a long way to go yet.

many more troops to fight a just war.
    many more iranian nukes.
    go ahead.
    rag on bush.
    it’s harmless fun.
and the only amusement obamafanboys have 11 months into the term.
the president sure hasn’t given the home team anything to cheer about.

  6. huge deficits.
obama’s debt for 11 months is greater than bush’s last FOUR YEARS.

  7. sports… it’s the one rule of law where friends and enemies can cry foul and the underwriters labratories get in the way with the bookies.

  8. Nadelmann said that while legalization efforts are not likely to get much traction in state capitals anytime soon, the fact that there is such an increase of activity “is elevating the level of public discourse on this issue and legitimizing it.”

“I would say that we are close to the tipping point,” he said. “At this point they are still seen as symbolic bills to get the conversation going, but at least the conversation can be a serious one.”

We’ve got a long way to go before the insanity of keeping pot illegal is stopped but this is definitely an encouraging step.

Of three things that should be legalized — same-sex marriage, pot and prostitution — if they are eventually legalized in most states, I believe it will be in that order because while the vast majority of conservatives are opposed to all three, I think that liberals and independents tend to join them on the latter two, especially prostitution.

  9. Bush has war loot in is presidential library? This tells me how far the US is from any purported ideal of being a moral actor at home or abroad.
