…because knowing is half the battle.

NYT really missed the mark in the Prop 8 article. AS IF passing Prop 8 isn’t itself harassment of the highest order. AS IF the Yes on Prop 8 people didn’t themselves use donor lists before the election to try to extort money from business that donated to NO on 8. AS IF the accusations of haters that the white powder was mailed by their opponents are meaningful in the least (where are the arrests then, NYT?). SHODDY JOB, NYT, and thanks for buying in to the Gayz R Eevil drone of the GOP/haters. Great work. Keep it up!
I don’t understand why you guys don’t post the overdubbed gi joe psa’s. they are hilarious!

Even the Liberal mouthpiece NYT sees the response of anti-8 terrorist as despicable and beyond the pale.
Look for measures to protect the identity of donors in the future.
Maybe Prop 8 opponents should school themselves in the basics: Civics 101, Democracy and responsible civil behavior before moving on to complicated subjects like marriage.
I get lots of emails that I don’t want, from people I don’t know. Some of them annoy me or make me feel bad. Here’s what I do: Step 1 Don’t read them. Step 2 Put them in the trash. Step 3 Empty the trash. Step 4 Don’t take them personally.
Optional Step 5 Stop thinking that I am the center of the goddamned universe.
Optional Step 6 Consider the reality that most senders of ugly threatening emails are bullies who don’t go further than threats. Bullies threaten. It is extremely unpleasant and upsetting. But they almost never act. Taking advantage of public disclosure is despicable, no matter who does it.
Still, when I donated money to defeat Prop 8 I knew what I was doing, I gave my name and info and I was PROUD to have my name made public so that any one who felt like it could see that I was opposed to Prop 8. Same reason I put a sign on my car. Same reason I volunteered. Same reason a man spit on me on election day, I imagine. I do not like being spat upon but I knew it could happen. Or something ickier. But I feel strongly about opposing Prop 8 and showing myself as an opponent. I confess that sometimes I was nervous when I volunteered. But I am more or less a grown up and I knew what I was doing and I wanted to do it, no regrets.
I am surprised that people who felt strongly enough about supporting Prop 8 to send $ were not also proud to be publically identified as supporters. Esp since their organization took full advantage of that public disclosure of donors for their own political purposes. If they don’t have strong convictions on this issue, then why oh why are they willing to donate $? It doesn’t make sense.
When the Yes on 8 peeps put up their map of donors opposed to Prop 8, I promise not to whine about it.
Jesus H. Christ what a bunch of babies. They sound like poor darling victimized abused Christianistas. They want to get into everyone else’s lives but they want to huddle under cover so no one knows who they are? Where do they think they live? Not requiring disclosure for political donations has far worse consequences for responsible civil behavior than the other alternatives.
My name is C. Ramsey and I approve this message.

wow
you are so brave!
they should name a landfill after you.
It may take time to find proof the Holocaust happened?!
I just don’t know what to say about that…
@6: They go to the concentration camp sites and say their soil tests can find no trace of poison gas.
There are now more Americans opposing the president’s stimulus package than support it.
Obama’s vaunted communications skills have done jack shit on this issue. He’s totally been bulllied, bullied, bullied by the GOP which was flatlining. They have defined the plan as a spending/pork plan. He let them do it.
He is failing big time at the biggest change we were promised, that he would use his superior communication skills to……get shit passed.
Instead, he’s trying to win passage thru pandering and giving in, as M. Dowd says, because he’s pausing too long to look in the mirror, and see Linclon.
3 days of news cycles about Tom Douchle’s 24-7 MANSERVANT didn’t help either. Indeed, trying to argue Douchle prized insiderish contacts made him so valuable didn’t help either. Where is the health care plan btw, and why isn’t there any grass roots mobilization going on? There are a few little meetings here and there and that’s about it. All the Obama activists are basically dismeployed now, by the campaign, and have no role to play because he’s not being a very good community organizer either.
He isn’t even organizing his own community of supporters.
Kelly O and Ari Spool give Rutherford B. Hayes can of Rize, Rutherford B. Hayes drink Rize, freak out, Prez out, RUTHERFORD B. HAYES BECOME ULYSSES S. GRANT!
ULYSSES S. GRANT WILL NOT BE PRESIDENT ANYTIME THIS MONTH!
And no, I don’t feel like letting it go.

It is erie how quiet it has been since Obama came in; I expected a flurry of (substantive) things and a lot of energy but it has been very subdued and when his guy holds a briefing you just want to doze off. I am afraid the magic spell will wear off and am not sure where we will be then ๐
why stop at donations?
do away with the secret ballot.
then we can see who votes ‘bigot’
and terrorize them all.
As the economic stimulus package starts to look scarily compromised, and I’m not getting calming explanations from e.g. Rachel Maddow’s canceled Air America Radio show about Obama’s deliberate congressional jujitsu, it seems as if the only post-election podcast still providing a modicum of comfort is Harry Shearer on Le Show. Not because things are good, just because he’s good.
