  1. Is the US repeating Soviet mistakes in Afghanistan? Yah sure, just like the Soviets repeated British mistakes, who repeated Mughal mistakes, who repeated Alexander the Great’s, ad infinitum.

You cannot rule Afghanistan. At best you contain it.

  2. Dan should listen to the Governor of Utah. Civil Union with all the benefits of marriage but not the name is doable. Now. Don’t be a PRICK and sacrifice progress because you are more interested in winning a pissing contest with the Fundies.

  3. @6
Isn’t Dan already mostly in support of politicians who advocate for civil unions with all the benefits of marriage instead of full marriage rights because it’s more practical to get done?

  4. A politician playing politics? Mon dieu! Huntsman has the money behind him, so he doesn’t necessarily need his home state cash. Best of luck to him. Nice to see a Republican thinking outside the conservative box.

Could we just say to Afghanistan, ‘give us Bin Ladin and we’ll leave’?

I love Green Lake but that video made me gag.

California already does but Dan has had his panties bunched up ever since Prop 8. The Blacks and Fundies have become an obsession.

  6. Other Republican senators who contributed the $10,000 maximum limit include Mike Crapo of Idaho

Senator Crapo took over Larry Craig’s seat, you’ve got to be kidding.

  7. If the Republicans think that going back to the mean spirited Gingrich era is going to help them back in power so they rob the citizens of this country again, they have another think coming. And that Lindsay Graham has one of the stupidest mouths of the lot. The next election will hopefully see the R’s complete and utter rout.

  8. Q: How many ex-presidents does it take to not be president at all this month?

    A: ALL OF THEM, MOTHERFUCKERS!

    For example…

JAMES K. POLK WILL NOT BE PRESIDENT AT ALL THIS MONTH!

And no, I don’t feel like letting it go.

  9. “helping the military to fill shortages in medical care, language interpretation and field intelligence analysis”

So qualified immigrants get to become full citizens with full rights because they have excellent medical, language, or analytical skills but gay/lesbian/bi servicemembers who are already citizens get stripped of their benefits and tossed out for the sake of their sexuality, thus making them not-full citizens. That certainly must make a lot of sense to the fu*#ing Pentagon but it makes no sense at all to me. Someone please explain. And no, this is not the fault of Obama, so don’t even get started on that route; they’ve been working on this plan since ol’ 43 was in charge.
