  1. Dan, thank you for the advice to the violin boy and his girlfriend. When I was in high school I wanted to have sex with my boyfriend after about four months but he wasn’t ready. We ended up waiting a year to have intercourse, which was the best decision ever because five years later our sex life is so much better for it because we know how to get off in different ways.

    If the guy isn’t ready, this couple should enjoy the time they have now to have awesome oral sex and all sorts of other great things- vaginal intercourse is not the be-all/end-all sexual goal (as nice as it is).

    And thanks for mentioning that the teacher might be conditioned to think this girl has no sexual agency- I keep using examples like that to prove to my mom that you’re a feminist 🙂

  3. Okay, just listened. This violin teacher does not sound like any violin teacher that I know. Violin teachers in general are good wingmen and usually don’t cock-block their students. My husband’s violin teacher used to set her students up. I know many violin teachers who skip that step and sleep with their students themselves. Violin drama is pretty awesome.

    If you’re going to hook up with someone who plays an orchestral instrument, statistically, it’s going to be a violinist because there are more of us.
