  3. Poppers is an invisible line between gay and straight. What gay doesn’t know what poppers are? Less common with straights. I love them and love introducing them to people 🙂

  4. Wait Sweden (where I live) has a lover level of HIV-spread per capita but the large majority of men are uncut, like me. I’ve slept with both cut and uncut guys and in my experience uncut guys are more sensitive. Sure thats anecdotal but personally – if you wanna get cut as an adult to make you less vulnerable to infection do that. If you don’t, don’t. Don’t force your kid into that choice by cutting off parts of him.

    If your worried about HIV, use condoms. They work wonders for that statistic effect.

    Just add-on: if you as an adult like your cut dick or your guys cut dick, thats all fine I’m not saying nothing about that but that should be a choice. (most of the guys with cut dicks, a few muslims and an american – where great lovers so nothing wrong there and they seemed happy to have sex)

  5. Honestly, I don’t see why circumcision is even a debate. Don’t make changes to the body of a person who can’t consent to it! Let them decide to have it done when they’re an adult if it’s so important.

    Also, please don’t perpetuate the comparison to female “circumcision”– it’s not even remotely the same thing and serves to play down FGM.

  6. I agree with all the above. Here in the UK it is also not normal to circumcise infants; doctors don’t even discuss it with parents, and the vast majority of circumcisions here are for religious reasons.

    JensR – I think we also have a relatively low HIV rate, but to be fair I think both Sweden and the UK also tend to have far fewer abstinence-only sex education models, and I know we have free sexual healthcare, and there are other cultural differences which make a like-for-like comparison of the statistics difficult.

    There are some small arguments to be made regarding HIV transmission, but none of those arguments requires that a person be circumcised whilst they are an infant. Let your son grow up with everything intact. If and when he starts thinking about being sexually active, circumcision is a choice he can make for himself.

  7. In reaction to the fuck buddy/handjob/exBF call: some rules for SLC callers:
    1) Use a decent phone with a decent connection.
    2) Get to the point.
    3) Don’t use your cool hipster back-of-the-throat voice (that goes for women, too).
    4) Respect chronology.
    5) Formulate a question to be answered.
    6) BEWARE OF PRONOUNS. If there are two or more guys in the story, and you’re not one of them, “he” won’t do. Likewise for women and “she”.

  8. All those so het up about “disfiguring minors”: when are you launching your referendum on piercing girls’ ears? One the continuum between pierced ears and female genital mutilation, male circumcision is (IMO) much closer to pierced ears.

  10. In response to the “boob job” guy, I don’t think there’s any way to broach the subject without being offensive. I think Dan gave good advice at first by saying “you either like them or you don’t,” but then ended with an almost Larry David solution of bringing up plastic surgery “in general.” The Larry David response is usually funny because it doesn’t work in real life.
