For the first time ever (in local memory), Capitol Hill’s 12th Avenue hosts a street festival. Lark, Cafe Presse, Marjorie, Elliott Bay Cafe, La Spiga, Bluebird Homemade Ice Cream, and others will be out between Pike and Madison, serving their goods for $5 and under. Entertainment comes in the form of roving buskers (watch out!). Note to parents: There will be a “fun-filled space just for kids.” Note to unencumbered adults: Your fun-filled space is inside the beer and wine garden (which hopefully won’t be a chain-link-fenced gulag). 1. I was hoping for something more. I feel like I sampled all the “festival” had to offer in about 15 minutes. I know this was intended to be a marketing vehicle for local businesses, but it would have been nice to have some amplified entertainment or something on which to focus. It seems “center stage” was the Molly Moon’s truck.

  2. It was sort of funny @1. People were willing to stand in line for half an hour in 90 degree heat for a Molly Moon ice cream cone, while just a few tents down Bluebird had quite delicious ice cream – and no line whatsoever.
