The only person David Mamet surprised when he came out of his conservative closet two years ago was David Mamet. His best plays are all about competition, free marketeering, and the Hobbesian struggle of all against all. They’re also—far from being misogynist, no matter what anyone says—all about the frailty men hide behind thorny hedges of aggression and bravado. This production of Glengarry Glen Ross stars some of the old lions of Seattle theater snarling and chewing on each other’s egos. It’s fantastic.

  1. I did…or, I will have. Saw the final preview performance and am taking 4 guests with me tonight.

Anyone vaguely intrigued by live theatre should definitely catch this one before it closes. Theatre-lovers would certainly enjoy seeing it twice.
