Jerick Hoffer, Valerie Curtis-Newton, and Satori Group
  • Jerick Hoffer, Valerie Curtis-Newton, and members of Satori Group

Tonight is the second annual Stranger Genius Awards performance showcase at the Frye, in which I will interview the theater-breaking Satori Group, fierce and sagacious director Valerie Curtis-Newton, and drag/theater superstar Jerick Hoffer (aka Jinkx Monsoon).

For bonus fun, Hoffer will also perform an original song off his new release, The Inevitable Album.

For last year’s Genius showcase, I interviewed choreographers Pat Graney, Amy O’Neal, and Zoe Scofield and it was a packed house. Technically, the pre-show tickets are sold out for tonight but we’ve had some standby room at this year’s previous showcases. If you want to get a load of some of the most adventurous brains in the Seattle performance scene these days, considering showing up for a last-minute ticket.

And if you don’t make that, you can always join us for the post-showcase drinking at Vito’s.
