I watched a performance of GreenStage‘s Antony and Cleopatra in Volunteer Park last night. I enjoyed it a lot—very exciting, with some good physical humor. Matthew Gilbert as Octavius Caesar was coiled up and furious, and Allison Strickland’s Cleopatra was appropriately dramatic for a queen.

This is the final weekend for the summer Shakespeare performances in Volunteer Park. Tonight is The Tempest at 7 pm. Saturday is a double feature with The Tempest at 3 pm and Antony and Cleopatra at 7 pm.

Bring your beach chair and some warm clothes, the performances last several hours.

  1. Will Dan be there? I need to know if I should bring my seven Pit Bull rescues? They are the cutest little snuggle-monkeys. So well behaved off-leash like I leave them to roam as god and nature intended. Oh. They’re fine. Aa long as nobody is in a toga or using old English. That sets them off in a kill rage. But what are the chances, right?
