Our critics have already recommended 44 awesome things to do this week, but there are many, many more events happening. To save some of the stranger, quirkier, and more extraordinary ones from slipping through the cracks, we’ve compiled them here—from the launch party for Emerald City Comicon’s official beer to the Rainbow Bingo Pajama Party featuring Sylvia O’Stayformore to the Pancakes and Booze Art Show.

TUESDAY
1. Trump vs Bernie: The Debate! With James Adomian and Anthony Atamanuik
James Adomian, as Bernie Sanders, takes on Anthony Atamanuik, as Trump, in a topical, timely, and probably hilarious take on the current presidential race.
WEDNESDAY
2. Dark Heron Debut Party
Fremont Brewing Company is having a launch party for Dark Heron, the official beer of Emerald City Comicon, that will feature a Dark Heron costume contest and mingling with ECCC folks (including Dark Heron artist Justin “Moritat” Norman).
3. Jewish Food Movement Panel
Jewish leaders and chefs in the local, slow food and sustainable farm-to-table movement (like the people of Homegrown, Oxbow Farms, and Parfait Ice Cream) will speak about their strategies at Stroum.
4. KUOW’s UNcaucus
Hosted by KUOW’s Ross Reynolds and Humanities Washington’s Zaki Barak Hamid, this event invites Democrats to discuss relevant social and political issues—without blowing a circuit by trying to side with Bernie or Hillary right now. They promise low-key activities like trivia, “unofficial voting” (polling?), and even listening to relevant radio pieces as a group.
5. Pundamonium: The Seattle Pun Slam
All puns are intended at this event. Watch as ten contestants make puns based on prompts given to them in the two minutes they are allotted. The top four contestants move on to the final pun-off.
6. A Tribute to Woody Guthrie
Underwood Stables presents this tribute evening to Woody Guthrie and the month he spent in Washington State, which “was perhaps the most prolific period of his career,” and led to his Columbia Gorge songs.
THURSDAY
7. Bdenie
The remarkable choral group The Esoterics has expanded to 48 singers for this momentous occasion: a commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Rachmaninoff’s All Night Vigil, the work he wrote during World War I for the Russian Orthodox Church. It was soon banned in his native land, and he fled, never to return, but he requested that one of its movements be performed at his funeral. For Eric Banks, the founder and director of The Esoterics, this work is a landmark in choral music history: It is “the end of an era.” And with that, the end of Russian romantic music for voice. 8. Ian Bell’s Brown Derby Series Presents: Back to the Future!
“Ridiculously staged readings of your favorite screenplays” is how Ian Bell describes his Brown Derby series, and now they turn their sights on Back to the Future.
9. KEXP New Home Benefit: Bob Dylan Tribute
This jam-packed cover night, curated and hosted by Galen Disston of Seattle band Pickwick, is headlined by The Moondoggies, about whom Bree McKenna wrote, “[their] somber, beautifully melodic NW folk makes a perfect soundtrack to stroke your beard and ponder the nighttime beach bonfire.”
10. Seattle AntiFreeze: Seattle Pickle Co. and Oxbow Organic Farm
Make new friends over pickled vegetables. They say: “Seattle Pickle Co. has taken fresh, locally produced cucumbers, green beans and more and combined them with a briny solution akin to the Puget Sound, and created a delicious line of pickled treats that capture the essence of Seattle. Get a taste of the history and relationship between food and geography with MOHAI, the Seattle Pickle Co., and Oxbow Organic Farm.”
11. Trash-O-Rama Movie Night: Crazy Carnival Classics
Something Weird presents a double screening of two (crazy) carnival films at Darrell’s Tavern: She Freak from 1967, and Girl on the Run from 1953. They promise “sideshow” drink specials all night!
FRIDAY
12. Dino Talk: Dinosaurs of the Lost Continent
Dr. Scott Sampson (host of the PBS KIDS series Dinosaur Train) will come to the University of Washington, in partnership with the Burke Museum, to speak about the Western landmass of Laramidia and the creatures (and dinosaurs!) that once called it home.
13. Landing of St. Patrick
Celebrate the arrival of Patron Saint Patrick in South Lake Union, by boat, with the sweet sound of bagpipes. You’ll then Ride the Ducks, and participate in the annual “Laying O’ The Green” which marks the St. Patrick’s Day Parade route.
14. Literature to Life: The Secret Life of Bees
The Washington Center for the Performing Arts presents a one-woman adaptation of Sue Monk Kidd’s The Secret Life of Bees, along with pre- and post-show discussions of American civil rights.
15. Puget Soundtrack: Lori Goldston presents Echoes of Silence
Puget Soundtrack, presented by Northwest Film Forum, invites musicians to create a live score for a film of their own choosing. This time, cellist and composer Lori Goldston will create a live soundtrack for Peter Emmanuel Goldman’s Echoes of Silence.
16. Rainbow Bingo Pajama Party
This inclusive event (that happens to be at a senior center) promises bingo, pandemonium, prizes, host Sylvia O’Stayformore, and an Elvis impersonator. Price includes dinner and a dozen games of bingo!
SATURDAY
17. Cannabis 101
If you don’t know much about cannabis and are curious to learn, check out this intro class at The Winston House, a secret venue that hosts weed-oriented classes in cooking and painting as well as health and wellness events, and informational sessions about marijuana use. You can learn about what kinds of strains/ingestion methods work best for you in a friendly, artsy, non-judgmental environment.
18. The Clearing
Chimera Dance Theater presents this performance that promises to take you on “a journey to the deepest part of the wood,” and will bring to life folklore characters through stories that are daring, funny, and scary.
19. Dino Day
At Dino Day, explore a dig pit with fossils, meet paleontologists, and check out the hundreds of dinosaurs and other animals that lived on the lost continent of Laramidia.
20. Manuela Horn’s Naughty St. Patty’s Day Party
Teatro ZinZanni’s special St. Patrick’s Day party features the “yodeling dominatrix” Manuela Horn, who will “sham-Rock” you, along with Mr. Big, “the sexiest leprechaun this side of the Atlantic,” the Oktoburlesques polka band, “flirty Irish dancing” from the Seattle Irish Dance Company, aerialist Tanya Brno, and ZinZanni’s “Chinese pole showstopper” Domitil Aillot. You’re encouraged to wear green (although chances are good you’ll get pinched anyway) and green beer will be available.
21. Pancakes & Booze Art Show
The Pancakes and Booze Art Show started in 2009 in LA, and has since brought its exhibitions of emerging artists and all-you-can-eat pancakes to cities across the country. Expect over 50 local artists, live body painting, and live audio and visual performances—and, of course, free pancakes.
22. Penn Cove Mussels Fest
At the Penn Cove Mussels Fest, $10 buys you a Mussel Chowder Tasting ticket, which will let you sample chowders at five different venues. They offer tours of the Penn Cove Shellfish farm, a beer garden, a mussel eating competition, and “seaside activities,” which will probably depend mostly on the weather. Rain or reluctant sunshine, there will be plenty of activities in Coupeville centered around seafood and local goods.

23. Saturday Night Bubbleglam
DJs Brnt Zza and Ruby Mz will be spinning “the absolute finest in GLAM ROCK, Bubblegum, and ultra trash for well dressed creeps of all genders and sexual orientation.” There’s also a possibility of a bubble machine and a disco ball.
24. Seattle Kennel Club Dog Show
An estimated 1,800 dogs are expected to vie for “Best in Show,” and there will be educational booths, demonstrations, and agility and obedience competitions.
25. Seattle Web Fest
Northwest Film Forum welcomes web series creators and consumers for a day of screenings, panels, and more.
26. The Universal Language Project: SCRAPE
The unconducted string ensemble Scrape will partner with soprano Cherie Hughes to perform Brian Chin’s Obamatorio, featuring some of “Obama’s most powerful statements”—a musical ode to his time in office. The program will also feature Scrape and the Seattle Youth Symphony performing works by Jim Knapp.
27. 14/48: The Speakeasy
This annual fundraiser for the 14/48 Projects promises a secret, sinful evening featuring music and burlesque hosted by Kaleb Hagen Kerr, casino gaming, a small plates buffet, a cash bar, and a Texas Hold’Em tournament.
SUNDAY
28. King-Snohomish County Regional Spelling Bee
Watch 70 middle-schoolers from King and Snohomish Counties compete for the chance to advance to the annual Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. The last time Seattle had a national champion was in 1991 (Amy Marie Dimak, who won with “fibranne”), so this may be your chance to witness history.
29. Nicola Pearson
Nicola Pearson (author of the Callum Lange Mysteries) will read from The Lost Hour, a fanciful picture book for children, about what happens to the hour that we “lose” when Daylight Savings springs forward.
30. St. Patrick’s Day Dash
Wear green and run, walk, or jog from Seattle Center to 4th Avenue and back in this giant St. Patrick’s Day 5K. The Post Dash Bash features live music, a costume contest, and “the biggest St. Patrick’s Day beer garden in the region.” Don’t forget to post your best photo on the event Facebook page for a chance to win a free trip to Dublin.
