This October, Three Dollar Bill Cinema will celebrate LGBTQ+ cinema during their 24th annual Seattle Queer Film Festival (formerly TWIST, formerly the Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival), which will screen films and throw parties around Seattle from October 10–20.
The full SQFF lineup was announced last night, and it looks just as lively and varied as ever, offering everything from historical romances to incisive documentaries from all around the world and embracing a diverse spectrum of genders and sexualities.
Among the most anticipated and promising movies are the opening film, the Judy Garland doc Sid & Judy; the sexy Brazilian doc Mister Leather; the Filipinx drama Billie and Emma; English comedian Simon Amstell’s love story Benjamin; the gay horror doc Scream Queen: My Nightmare on Elm Street; the six-part series A Luv Tale by This Is Us‘s Kay Oyegun; the buzzy coming-of-age comedy Adam; the documentary Seahorse: The Dad Who Gave Birth; delightful short film programs like Young Queer Hearts, and Truth-telling: QTPOC Shorts; and the closing film, acclaimed French director Céline Sciamma’s Portrait of a Lady on Fire. Plus, there will be workshops and discussions for queer folk and aspiring allies.
