Disappearance at the Rocky Mountain Leatherdyke Snowpicnic
June 5–20
I’ve been saying it for years: Pride month needs more ski slope murder mysteries. Thankfully, the good people at the Annex Theatre have listened. Writer Monty Rozema and director Adrian Prendergast have teamed up for the perfect lesbian whodunnit in Disappearance at the Rocky Mountain Leatherdyke Snowpicnic. The title is the whole plot. A group of sapphics are going to a snowy kink party when one party member goes missing. Newcomer Lois wants to investigate. Her friends don’t want her to ruin the party. Chaos ensues. What better way to enjoy a beautiful gay summer than seeing a sexy, spooky, screwball lesbian ensemble comedy? (Annex Theatre, times vary) NATHALIE GRAHAM
Scott Shoemaker’s Ms. Pak-Man Out of Control
June 6
Ms. Pak-Man brings everything I love about the iconic girly yellow circle to life: the clickity-clack of her high heels, giant pink bow, obsession with fruit, and absolutely xanned out personality. (Did you know that the power pellets she’s always munching on are actually pills?) The local drag diva promises to be “out of control” with an evening of singing, dancing, comedy, and confessions. Anyone by the name of Blinky, Pinky, Inky, or Sue will not be allowed on the premises. (Triple Door, 5 pm [17+] and 8 pm [21+]) AUDREY VANN
Robby Hoffman
June 6
Depending on what kind of TV you like to watch, you either know Robby Hoffman from her breakout role as Randi on HBO’s Hacks, or as the wife of beloved reality TV star Gabby Windey (The Bachelorette, Dancing With the Stars, Traitors, Love Overboard). But before her entrance into the cultural zeitgeist, Hoffman was an underrated stand-up comedian gracing small stages (her last headlining set in Seattle was at the 100-seat Here-After), where she talked about her Hasidic Jewish upbringing, queer identity, and love of dried apricots. Now she’s back, rightfully selling out the 1,000-seat Neptune Theatre, with only accessible seating available on the first-hand market. As she recently told Seth Meyers, “If you’re a bitch in a wheelchair, you’re in luck!” Continuing, “It’s not every day you’re sitting in America going ‘Great!’ But for the Robby Hoffman tour, this could be your in!” (Neptune Theatre, 7 and 9:45 pm, all ages) AUDREY VANN
