They cry when art is ignored, and boo and hiss when an artist excites an audience. It's the hater circle of life. Honestly, I thought James Franco had the best quote in the article. I'm happy for Abramovic's success and glad she is bringing performance art to a broader audience. Good for her.
Not a fan of the art of M. A. Reminds me of a few years ago, I couldn't open an art mag without seeing a reference to Joseph Beuys, fat and felt. Don't think he crossed over though.

There's a term you don't hear in art criticism nearly often enough. Sums up my response to much of what I saw at SAM yesterday.
