“Lindsay Lohan” is a 1 1/2-minute art film that features the actress in a series of luxurious poses and enigmatic, direct-to-camera stares. [Artist: Richard Phillips.] The Gagosian said the film references such movie classics as Bergman’s “Persona” and Godard’s “Contempt.”

  1. This the only Morning News I need, truthfully, and that’s without watching the video. May get to it later. Thanks.

  2. Lovely music, very MBV-ish. Shame about the fish lips. Funniest video I’ve seen in a while.

Closer to Vadim’s “And God Created Woman” with Bardot, I think. Except Bardot sort of had a personality.

  3. Less of an art film and more of a commercial for her brand. It’s too slick to provoke an emotional response. The “Persona” segment is missing… everything.

  4. @5: Bardot was much sexier, but I’ll always have a soft spot for our nation’s teen-celebrity-trainwreck-party-girls.

@6: She was brilliant in The Parent Trap!

Also, guurl needs to start wearing sunscreen about 5 years ago.

  6. Did they call it an art film because they couldn’t think of anything for her to say?
I found it boring and pointless and nothing more artistic than the opening credits for any movie. The pace was too slow to be the opening credits for TV, otherwise I would have called it that.

  7. and more of a commercial for her brand

Ignoring Lindsay for a moment, I believe that’s the point – a commercial advertising a persona feels weird yet inevitable.
