Hey stoner! Good at finding hidden drawings? Good at decoding scrambled words? Want a fancy new toy for getting high? All you have to do is solve a word puzzle in our current print issue and send it to The Stranger to be entered into the raffle!
Embedded throughout our High-Brr-Nation issue (anywhere on the printed page—including the articles and the ads) are 47 icons of stoner foods, things that get you high, or objects that can warm you up. As you flip through the issue, look for hot dogs, sodas, ice cream cones, pineapples, pot leaves, pipes, bongs, mittens, winter hats, and hair dryers. Printed on each of those icons is a letter. Gather all the letters for each word, unscramble them to decode the message, and once you think you’ve figured it out, write the mystery phrase in the blank spaces provided and send us your entry!
Once you’ve written the mystery phrase into the spaces (see below), cut it out of the paper (along with your name and contact info) and send it to: High-brr-nation Contest, c/o The Stranger, 1535 11th Avenue, Third Floor, Seattle 98122. All entries received on or before January 31 will be entered into a raffle. On February 1, we will draw the winning person’s name out of a hat. Only one entry per person. You may not enter this contest online. Anyone who shares the mystery phrase online before the deadline is automatically disqualified.
The Prize: a Grav Turbine Bubbler, worth $165! The full name of this highly coveted glass piece (which can be used like a bong or a dab rig) is a Grav Turbine Bubbler with Quartz Bucket, Flower Bowl, and Budderblocks. Our friends at Trichome, who have donated the prize (and also have Grav Turbine Bubblers at their boutique in the International District, 618 S Jackson Street, just in case you don’t win!), describe it like this: “One of our favorite pieces for flower or concentrates, the Grav Turbine Bubbler can handle whatever you want to enjoy.
