Dudes, I think something’s up with my right eyeball:

Doesn’t it look red? Eli Sanders says I’m being ridiculous. To compare, here’s my perfectly normal left eyeball:

The more I think about it, the more I feel a slight burning coming on. But is it all just in my mind? Or do I seriously have a fucked-up red eyeball!?

  1. I once had one eye get way red compared the other. Turns out some grass pollen was making my left eye all poofy. I went to the ER only to find out that I’m allergic to grass (I didn’t know!) Well, my left eye is allergic, anyway.

Try rinsing it out with water. That’s what the docs did and all was well.

  2. Yeah, I’d get that looked at… I get bouts of iritis, only ever in one eye at a time. I know it’s coming on when the eye feels sort of bruised and swollen and looks bloodshot.

  3. My cat had the same thing. The vet said it was chlamydia. You should really have that checked out. Don’t touch your privates without first washing your hand.

  4. Could be from rubbing your eye, dust, pollen, or any number of irritants. Take some Benadryl and sleep on it. Doesn’t look serious. Go to urgent care it it starts getting matted or prurulent.

  5. This happened to me once as a result of wiping my eye after handling raw chicken. It was itchy and unpleasant, but went away after a few days with no lingering effects.

  6. Better go to the ER just to be sure. Also I LOVE reflections in peoples eyes. There’s something incredibly poetic about it. I wonder if those are the office windows above the bicycle shop…

  7. Pink Eye!! You will try to convince yourself that it doesn’t burn or itch (no, it can’t be pink eye, it can’t!), but, you will be lying to yourself.

If you wake up tomorrow with a crusty eyeball, I’m going to say I told you so.

  8. This happened to me a while ago only it lasted for a couple weeks. I kept examining my eye, but couldn’t find anything wrong. Finally I went to the eye doctor and it turns out that a tiny piece of thread had somehow become wedged deep in my eye. He had to numb my eye, and pull it out with tweezers.

  9. Hot compress – washcloth or such, almost hot as you can stand it, several applications as you wind down your night. Should clear things up, and no co-pay.

  10. These eyes cry every night for you.
These arms long to hold you again.
    The hurtin’s on me yeah,
But I will never be free no my baby, no no.
You gave a promise to me yeah and you broke it, you broke it. Oh, no.

These eyes watched you bring my world to an end.
This heart could not accept and pretend.
    The hurtin’s on me yeah,
But I will never be free no no no.
You took the vow with me yeah.
You spoke it, you spoke it, babe.

    These eyes are cryin’
These eyes have seen a lot of loves
But they’re never gonna see another one like I had with you.

  11. Pinkeye, for sure. Or eye cancer. Possibly hypercontagious airborne eye cancer, which will render you and everyone you know blind, just like that crappy movie.

  12. Im all out of hope
One more bad dream could bring a fall
    When Im far from home
Dont call me on the phone
    To tell me youre alone
    Its easy to deceive
    Its easy to tease
    But hard to get release

    eyes without a face
    eyes without a face
    eyes without a face
Got no human grace your eyes without a face.

    I spend so much time
    Believing all the lies
    To keep the dream alive
    Now it makes me sad
It makes me mad at truth
    For loving what was you

    eyes without a face
    eyes without a face
    eyes without a face
Got no human grace your eyes without a face.

When you hear the music you make a dip
Into someone elses pocket then make a slip.
Steal a car and go to las vegas oh, the gigolo pool.
Hanging out by the state line,
    Turning holy water into wine
    Drinkin it down
Im on a bus on a psychedelic trip
Reading murder books tryin to stay hip.
Im thinkin of you youre out there so
    Say your prayers.
    Say your prayers.
    Say your prayers.

    Now I close my eyes
    And I wonder why
    I dont despise
    Now all I can do
    Is love what was once
    So alive and new
But its gone from your eyes
    Id better realise

    eyes without a face
    eyes without a face
    eyes without a face
Got no human grace your eyes without a face.
Such a human waste your eyes without a face
    And now its getting worse.

  13. It’s probably a little conjunctivitis, or “pink eye”. Go to a doctor or clinic and get some drops.
It’s highly contagious so do it before it spreads to the other eye.
It’s a bother but not serious.

  14. Looks like pinkeye to me. I had it and it spreads like crazy to the other eye & then even back again. Felt like I had a piece of sand in my eye that I couldn’t get out. I’d rather vomit and shit blood at the same time than go thru that again. If it starts to feel like there’s something in your eye, but there’s not… get your blue-eye’d ass to the doctor pronto beautiful.

  15. Every few years or so my eyes will get sore and I’ll wake up with gunk covering them so I can barely open them. (I know, you didn’t want to know.) But it always goes away in a few days with no lingering effects. I get yearly check-ups cause I need glasses, so I know my eyes are healthy (except for the poor vision). Just rinse them twice a day until they feel fine. Unless it doesn’t go away in 3 days, then see a doc.

  16. If it’s allergies, there are antihistamine eye drops available over the counter now. Naphcon-A, etc.

Will provide symptom relief, but get it checked out if no improvement in a couple of days.

  17. i agree with paul @ 16. My eye looked very much the same and after trying to treat it with over the counter eye drops for weeks, i went to the doc and it turns out i had a corneal infection. go to an optometrist! better safe than sorry.
