So, Herman Cain is out. Let’s take a moment to reflect on the good times, shall we?

Here, almost a year ago, is my very first post on Herman Cain. I miss those simple times.

Here is the time I went to Godfather’s Pizza in Federal Way to learn more about Herman Cain and the Republican Party.

Here’s my review of Herman Cain’s memoir, I Am Herman Cain.

And here is my interview with comedian Tim Heidecker about his Herman Cain-themed album, Cainthology: Songs in the Key of Cain.

That’s it! It’s been a beautiful run, folks. We had a lot of laughs, but the party’s over. One final Herman Cain-related Slog poll, and we’re done.

  1. Why hasnt there been any reports on all of last night’s exciting occufailures in Seattle?

    Assaulting a guy for holding a sign…

Getting rousted by the SWAT team after tresspassing, resulting in at least 20 arrests….

    What’s the deal slog

  2. What’s funny about this is his disgraced has paved the way for serial adulterer Newt Gingrich to take the moral high ground. You can’t make this shit up. This feels like an SNL skit.

  3. The funny thing is that one less crazy person running for the Republican nomination does not make the collective pool of nominees any less crazy. How does that happen?

  4. Herman Cain should change his first name to “Everywomansman” and get back in the race to grab those alienated-GOP-female votes.

  5. Suspend it if you like, dangling in mid-air, defying the laws of political gravity, but …

I swear by the mud below my feet
You can’t raise a Cain back up when he’s in defeat.

  6. NYT:

In suspending his candidacy, as opposed to saying that he was quitting the race or ending his bid, Mr. Cain maintained his ability to accept money to pay for his campaign so far and to finance the new venture that he called his Plan B: to travel the country promoting his tax and foreign policy plans. If Mr. Cain had decided to formally close his campaign organization, he would not be able to use donations that may come in.

Does merely “suspending” his campaign also entitle him to hang onto the Secret Service detail he requested a couple of weeks ago? I hope taxpayers won’t be continuing to shell out $100K/week to provide book tour security for someone who isn’t running for president.

  7. Word is they don’t really live together and have not for years. My guess is one or both “don’t believe in divorce” so they will stay married. We know he has had side action for years I suppose it is possible she does too.

The money is good & divorce might cut into that so thats another reason.
