Wonkette points out that this Politico story about the latest defections from the Herman Cain campaign is hiding some very interesting information in plain sight:

The move, which shakes the campaign of the tea party favorite into turmoil in a state where he’s staking much of his 2012 hopes, comes after weeks of swirling rumors between Cain’s staff and volunteers in the Hawkeye State accusing each other of affairs, homosexuality and professional misconduct.

Seems like if you’re running a Republican campaign, homosexuality is professional misconduct, right? There’s no more information about these accusations in the piece, although I assume there will be a delicious tell-all memoir published once the Cain campaign finishes imploding. In the meantime, the question still stands: Is Herman Cain giving up on Iowa and New Hampshire, as his campaign staff is saying? Cain is addressing this problem by employing the time-tested Herman Cain method: By speaking about himself in the third person: “There is only one Herman Cain, and I cannot be everywhere everybody wants me to be.”

  1. “…affairs, homosexuality and professional misconduct.”

How do I get a job on Cain’s staff? I’ve never had that much fun in politics!

  2. Isn’t this pretty typical of most GOP candidates and their staff?

I yearn for the day they can all get married legally and not live in the closet.
