It’s just a little show, but with some big moves. Nancy Keeling in Texas took the black-and-white photograph of father and daughter in a moment of preparation at home, titled Getting Ready for Funeral. Yadesa Bojia’s three paintings are like arrest mug shots of black men, but the signs they hold up say things like “Father,” “Artist,” “Activist.” Aramis Hamer’s big, bright painting of a young girl just holding her own while underwater is an instant badass icon, better than any Shepard Fairey.
