The SECB ended up at the War Room last night, where it bought Mike McGinn* a Guinness and then drank a quantity of whiskey. On mornings like this, the SECB recalls, what is very best is a plate of eggs and a milkshake. But where to go (without, of course, leaving the two-block radius)? Charlie’s sounds a little weird. Glo’s—does Glo’s have milkshakes? Maybe it will have to be a coursed meal, with milkshake at Bluebird, then omelet at Cafe Presse. That is really suboptimal. The SECB has a new initiative for Mr. Eyman: Initiative All Restaurants Have Milkshakes. Vote yes.

Charlie’s used to be decent, but it’s been spotty the last few times I’ve been in there. I hope they get back up to speed, I’m on the verge of not trying them again for years.

I don’t eat eggs and I’m lactose intolerant (including cheese, even though I ate 2 cubs last night), BUT this sounds like a great hangover cure and I fully advocate Initiative 1042, Pertaining To Requiring Eggs And Milkshakes Be Served At Any Food Service Establishment.

Mae’s is the place. If you get the mocha shake, ask for an extra shot in it. They tend to over do the chocolate (as does everywhere else).

I slammed a bagel in the toaster and then got on with the day. Then again, I have a full-time job, and can’t afford to go a-brunching on weekdays anyway.
