Durkan reminds me of Jeanine Pirro. Probably a decent prosecutor when she prepared well and did her job, but really ill-suited when she gets a curve ball.

I remember video of Pirro running against Clinton for the Senate seat. She had a press conference to bash Clinton, something that anyone should be able to do off the cuff just by leaning on the standards, but her teleprompter went down and she stood at the podium silent for the longest time trying to find her place in her notes. (I'm sure the video is readily available online, if anyone wants to watch Pirro unable to spew her vitriol.)

I'd agree Durkan is gone at this time next year but not because she was removed from office. More than likely she'll accept a position in the new administration post election and move on to bigger and better things. That was always her plan and Lorena Gonzalez will move into the big chair. For those of you with delusions that Durkan is going to be removed by the council or through a recall I'd remind you that the previous mayor had several credible accusations of child molestation and not one single vote was taken on whether to remove him from office. So don't hold your breath waiting for that.

Police spend hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars per year to purchase the latest high-tech battle gear and protective armor, which apparently is so susceptible to damage from plastic bottles containing water they have no choice but to deploy chemical weapons against civilian populations that they wouldn't otherwise be allowed to use against enemy combatants in an actual war.

Must be the same folks who manufacture that Star Wars storm trooper armor, or maybe it should have "ACME" stenciled on it for all the good it does, amiright?

I watched the video of the cops clearing that intersection. They kept throwing flash bangs long after there was nobody in it. Just a good afternoon with fireworks, except they get to actually throw them at people rather than dogs or whatever they did as kids, and the city pays for it all.

I wonder if 25 is this obtuse and stubborn in other areas of his life. Like, let's say he were to injure himself in the kitchen one day in such a fashion that required immediate medical attention. But rather than a doctor's office or hospital, he instead goes to a Payless Shoe Source for care, only to be told by all of the store patrons, staff and security personnel that they couldn't help him, and explaining to him exactly how and why he was incorrect in seeking medical care at a shoe store. Do you think he'd continue to show up at the same Payless day after day, for weeks on end seeking medical care, despite everyone's clear and repeatedly pointing out to him how fundamentally stupid and wrongheaded it was to do so? I bet he would.

The answer is so simple and obvious - ELECT DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP!!! Flip the Governor's and Seattle Mayor's office from Republican to Democrat and begin to fix the problem immediately!!!
If this had been done 20 years ago the city and state wouldn't be in this mess in the first place!!!
