Your problem is you assume your City Council and Mayor work for the citizens of Seattle.

They work for their suburban masters.

Follow the donations. And PAC $$

2

‘In SPD's probable cause statement, cops said they asked for a booking restriction exception for the public-commenters-turned-protesters due to the "risk of safety they cause(d) to the Seattle City Council members during their meeting."‘

The Stranger’s own linked story agrees:

“… Council Member Cathy Moore … said she felt physically threatened by the protesters, who she thought may break the windows. She called for the cops to arrest them…”

Why did the Stranger feel the need to contact Council President Nelson and Mayor Harrell? Did the Stranger not trust its own story?

"SPD Failed"

could've just stopped there. it covers any subject about them at any given time.

4

I noticed in the KING5 coverage of the axe murderer that they said "Law enforcement officials posted the suspect’s image in a bulletin and he was identified by a police officer who knew Kryger as a family friend."

5

"...Hamas says Israel has refused to guarantee withdrawal from the places it has invaded.."

Um... right. The IDF pulls back, Hamas re-occupies those areas and they'd need to be invaded again. Why is withdrawal a condition of ceasefire? This isn't negotiating the end of the conflict.

Since when is it up to the press or anyone else when detectives should reveal their investigations for public consumption? At some point it's most prudent to do so, but prematurely can have counterproductive results. I thought that was common knowledge - especially for anyone who watched more can one episode of "Law and Order".

@3: Glad you're safely ensconced in your uncurious bubble to ruminate in.

7

@3: They did arrest an axe murderer. That seems like a win.

8

@7, Is it any less murder if it was an "axe" murderer, "gun" murderer, "knife" murderer? Anything you put in front of "murder", or "murderer", is redundant and irrelevant.

Dead is dead.

One human decided to perpetrate violence against another until they died.

9

@8- it’s sort of having appreciation for the poetry in the English language. Substituting “gun murderer” for “axe murderer” is like swapping “out, stupid spot” into MacBeth.

10

@5 why would release of hostages be a condition of the ceasefire? Because giving the other side something they want in exchange for something you want is how negotiations work.

11

@8 Because “So I Married a Gun Murderer” just doesn’t have the same ring to it.

12

"Officer, thwow him to the fwoor, woughly!"

Your problem is you assume yours is the only viewpoint that matters in the city of Seattle.
